Our trip to Greece

Heey!

The design of our blog is not 100% ready yet, but we have started and will update it soon. Our blog will be in two languages- estonian and english.

Recently we spent a week in Greece, on the island Corfu. When we got there, everything was nice and the vacation started with a warm and sunny weather. We stopped in Gouvia, it is about 10km North from Corfu Town. Gouvia is a lovely tiny village, where every second house was a restaurant, café or bar. So there are plenty of places to choose from.
First day we went to Corfu Town to get to know the town and have a walk in it. We went to Old Fortress that is situated in the North-East part of Corfu Town. The fortress was very beautiful and interesting and had a cocktail-bar with a great view of the sea. We enjoyed being there very much.
Everything was perfect, until I (Stefani) woke up during the third night and I felt really bad. I vomited for around three hours, until Noa brought the local doctor to see me. Blood-pressure was low. We were recommended to go to the hospital and they said it might be food-poisoning. After the doctor left, while Noa was searching for a hospital, I fell asleep, so we went to the hospital the next morning. As we woke up Stefani didn’t feel much better so we took a taxi to the hospital (insurance gave us the wrong address first, so we drove to Corfu Town and saw that there was a police station instead of a hospital and the taxi driver laughed: “haha, this police, no hospital…hospital 5 years ago my friend” and drove us to the right place. At the hospital we had to wait for 4 hours and other patients had to do the same, so everybody was upset, yelling at doctors, but we kept it cool, cause screaming and acting angry won’t get us faster to the doctor. When it was Stefani’s turn we were sent to a hospital ward? (I dunno if it’s right word for a place where patient lay in one room on the beds) there was a sign on the door “Ebola” so we laughed that that’s a nice place to stay at :D We spent 2 more hours there waiting for infusions to go into Stefani’s veins. When it was done we found a doctor who spoke proper English and before we left the hospital he said: “ u from Estonia? Haha we won u yesterday in soccer 2-0” :D I’m kinda glad we lost the game cuz who knows what infusions would've beenincluded after we won the game…
After all that the holiday was fun, we rented a car and drove around most of the island and saw lot of beautiful/interesting places there and climbed the mountains (by car) and on the top of Paleokastritsa we had a meal in a restaurant with a great view. During these 7 days we ate in approximately 10 places and almost everywhere the food was very delicious. After 48 hours of Stefani’s tricks with health Noa got sick, so we started curing him and we had to buy some medicine from the pharmacy and even there we were first fooled but later got our money back. That made us think that they try to scam u everywhere and we caught them before they scammed us many times and every time they were like “sorry sorry..” and made us a price lower than in the menu (in the restaurant for example) As Noa didn’t feel well, Stefani got bored and saw cats under our balcony and started feeding them with food that we had in our room. It’s important to mention that there are a lot of homeless cats in Greece, so we felt bad for them and we can’t feed all of them, but we bought some cat food later and took care of 7 cats that “stayed” in our hotel :D They were really lucky to have proper food and the next morning during breakfast one of the cats we named “Garfield” crawled under our table and started knocking Stefani’s foot like “hey lady, u fed me yesterday, gimme food today!!!” and 5 slices of ham later other “hood cats” as we called them came by and then we understood that if personnel of the hotel sees these cats around our table, they would know why :D
When Noa got well, the weather was beautiful again, around 27 degrees and the sun was shining, so we could go to the beach (3min from hotel) and enjoy our vacation as we had originally planned to.
